Kowhai Cottage is situated so close to Nelson, you won't miss any of the events or exhibitions to be found here. An easy ten minute stroll or a quick taxi ride and you're in central Nelson for a meal at one of the many restaurants or cafes or in plenty of time for a movie. And don't forget the Saturday market, famous for its arts and crafts.

Lace up the tramping boots and head into the nearby hills. Walk up to the centre of New Zealand while you're here or put on your sailing clothes and enjoy Nelson's port.

The cottage is a large house, split into two separate self-contained residences. Guests stay in the spacious front residence, which retains its 1920's character ambience. Spacious and cool in summer with a sunroom hotspot - Kowhai Cottage is an appealing value for money choice.

Kowhai Cottage is available four months of the year from 1st December to 31st March. There is a minimum booking period of three nights and an additional cleaning charge of NZ$40 per booking.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

To secure your booking, a deposit of 10% is required. The balance should be paid at least 14 days prior to first date of stay.

Having only one group of quests at a time, while ensuring privacy and exclusivity, does mean that late cancellations exclude others unnecessarily and affects us significantly.

Whilst we appreciate that unexpected events can occur, we do require 15 days notice of cancellation or any reduction of your reservation. Notice within the 15 day period will incur a 50% fee; within 7 days or less, 100%. Naturally we will try and re-book your reservation and if successful will waive the cancellation fees.

We strongly encourage guests to take out comprehensive travel insurance to protect themselves against unexpected changes to their itinerary.
